Yara Belle Plaine Extends Support for STARS
“STARS is one of those organizations that every one of us hopes we will never need but know that if we did it could be life-saving. For any of us - it could be commuting to work, boating at the lake, helping at the farm, a medical emergency; or even what we work so hard to prevent – an industrial accident”, said George Pohorelic, Yara Belle Plaine Plant Manager, at the company’s annual Safety Day last month. “We’re proud to be able to contribute to this organization, and we do so for the health & safety of our employees, our customers, their families, and our communities”.
Yara and STARS also have plans to grow the relationship over the next five years thru participation in landing zone training, introduction of an employee donation matching program, and the hosting of an Open House at the Regina STARS base.
“Without the generosity of organizations such as Yara we could not do what we do in this province. We rely on donations for 50% of our funding and assure you that this pledge today from Yara will stay in Saskatchewan and keep the Regina & Saskatoon helicopters in the air.” said Jeri-Lyn Johnston, Director of Development, STARS Foundation said.
