Yara’s New Demonstration Farm Showcases the Power of Biostimulants
Designed as a regional hub for education, innovation, and collaboration, the farm aims to support data-driven decisions in the use of biostimulants to enable sustainable crop production.
The demonstration farm will provide a platform for hands-on learning and in-field research, highlighting the role of biostimulants and micronutrients in improving crop quality, nutrient and water use efficiency, soil health, and plant resilience.
“The purpose of this new farm is to demonstrate the impact of enhancing a complete crop nutrition program with high-quality biostimulants, and to give our partners the opportunity to see firsthand the results across different crops and solutions”, said Delaine Mandziak, Biological Agronomist, Yara North America. “Globally, Yara has invested more than 10 years of biostimulant research and development and has over 55 years of formulation knowledge. This demonstration farm showcases the innovative solutions we offer to amplify natural crop processes and resilience to adapt to stress in changing climate conditions.”
Field trials at the farm feature YaraAmplix™ biostimulant solutions and focus on key performance indicators including emergence rates, root development, nutrient uptake, water use efficiency, and resilience to abiotic stress. At the farm and across other field demonstrations, YaraAmplix solutions have already proven to bring value in improving plant growth and performance following challenging weather as seen following a recent hailstorm.
To help visitors assess the value of biostimulants for their own farms, they will be invited to take part in a hands-on experience - digging up roots to observe visual differences in development, and counting flowers, pods, and seeds per pod to assess improved plant productivity. Data and insights from the farm will be shared to advance the use of biostimulants in support of a resilient and productive food system.
The launch of the new farm comes as Yara achieves another significant milestone in delivering innovative biostimulant solutions; YaraAmplix PROCOTE OPTIMIZE™ has received the EU certification as a biostimulant coating that increases availability of applied N, P and K in the soil and the rhizosphere for all types of soil and pH categories. With PROCOTE OPTIMIZE, growers can protect the phosphorus they apply and liberate the phosphorus already in the soil.
