YaraVita® MAGTRAC CMZ™ is a highly concentrated formulation containing the nutrients potato crops need to optimize crop establishment and avoid hidden hunger. It contains 3 times more magnesium than epsom salts, with added copper, manganese, and zinc; 8-10 times more magnesium than a liquid chelate and 3-4 times more than liquid sulfate or nitrate products.

Manganese

Plays a role in chlorophyll synthesis and is a critical component in the chlorophyll molecule itself. It is also responsible for activation of plant enzymes.

Nitrogen

Important in fueling growth and providing high yields. Nitrogen also ensures optimal carbohydrate production in leaves.

Copper

Serves as a catalyst in photosynthesis and respiration. Necessary for lining formation for cell wall strength and integrity, especially important in the vascular system. The levels of copper in Eastern Canada are low or deficient.

Magnesium

Plays a central role in photosynthesis, as it is present at the center of each chlorophyll molecule. It is involved in various key steps of sugar and protein production as well as the transport of sugars in the form of sucrose from the leaves to the tuber. Magnesium also promotes plant development.

Zinc

Acts as a binding agent in enzymatic reactions. This is important in protecting proteins from denaturing. Zinc plays a major role in nitrogen metabolism and deficient crops will have lower levels of protein. Starch content is also affected by zinc. It is necessary for auxin formation and cell division and elongation. It also improves phosphorous movement.
