Applied nutrients do not get used by plants effectively unless they are supplied in the right balance. Nitrogen and sulphur have a very synergistic relationship that is key in a crop reaching its full potential. YaraVera® AMIDAS® (40-0-0+5.5) is a unique granular, homogenous nitrogen and sulphate sulphur fertilizer that is readily available to crops. Proven more effective than blends, YaraVera AMIDAS delivers the essential nutrients together in one granule for optimal crop nutrition efficiencies and improved handling.
Farmers have no time to deal with poor bin unloading and drill plugging in the spring. Ammonium sulphate has the tendency to attract moisture and has a lower critical relative humidity than urea. In addition, blending fertilizers will increase the chance of dust. YaraVera AMIDAS has you covered! Without the need to blend, the harder granule and the unique coating applied onto YaraVera AMIDAS will improve your spring fertilizer application experience.
For growers that utilize spreaders, YaraVera AMIDAS can spread as wide as 120 feet versus 80 feet as seen by competition, saving on average 33% of passes per field.
Here is an example of a blend where non-matched size fertilizer ingredients where used. You can see the segregation of nutrients when poured into the fertilizer hopper by the cone shape, as larger particles round down to the edge of the hopper. On spreading, the centre of the hopper empties first, in this case, spreading the small urea particles, and afterwards the larger particles. There can be a significant deviation in actual nutrient rate applied compared to the desire or targeted application rate.
YaraVera AMIDAS’ homogeneous nature alleviates the issue of nutrient segregation seen in blends, and delivers a uniform distribution of N and S. When applied together in one granule, it’s also proven that N and S enhance their effectiveness and have a higher rate of nutrient uptake.
Even the best blends can segregate and it is tough to ensure plants are getting equal amounts of N and S. In addition, blending fertilizer can cause breakage and dust creating problems at seeding.
Plants utilize nitrogen and sulphur together to build proteins and DNA. Applying N and S together helps ensure top yields.

Regardless of application method, YaraVera AMIDAS provides uniform distribution of nitrogen and sulphur across every drill pass.
Trials show that YaraVera AMIDAS provides higher canola yields on both Sideband and Broadcast applications.
Trials show that YaraVera AMIDAS provides higher canola yields on both Sideband and Broadcast applications.
In this Yara North America trial, YaraVera AMIDAS treatment increased winter wheat yield by 8 bushels/acre compared to a blend of urea and ammonium sulphate treatment.
YaraVera AMIDAS can provide significantly higher yields compared to treatments of urea + ammonium sulphate (AMS) and to UAN 28 + ammonium thiosulphate (ATS). In this 2-year trial, YaraVera AMIDAS treatment yielded 33 more bushels than the urea + AMS program.
YaraVera AMIDAS can help you achieve significantly higher protein content on winter wheat versus UAN + ammonium thiosulphate (ATS), as shown in this trial.
Plants utilize nitrogen and sulphur together to build proteins. YaraVera AMIDAS has N and S that are readily available to the plant all in the same prill in an optimal ratio for protein synthesis.
In this trial, topdressing corn with YaraVera AMIDAS provided superior yield compared to a program consisting of urea, ammonium sulphate, UAN, and ammonium thiosulphate.
Trial shows a 4% increase in yield and a 7% increase in nitrogen use efficiency when YaraVera AMIDAS is applied versus Urea & Ammonium Sulfate Blend.
