Yara Canada has been operating a dry fertilizer terminal in Contrecoeur since 1986. This deep water, state of the art facility, is strategically located along the St. Lawrence River in order to allow year-round vessel access and ensure product distribution in Eastern Canada and Northeastern United States.
The terminal is located on a 33 acre site at Contrecoeur, Quebec, on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, 50 km northeast of Montreal. It is made up of 25 domes distributed in 3 circular phases having a combined storage capacity of 160,000 metric tons. The terminal can receive product from vessels as well as rail and trucks. Product shipment can be made by rail or trucks. The Contrecoeur product terminal services the agricultural and industrial markets and offers a variety of nitrogen fertilizer products. The terminal is equipped with conditioning equipment as well as a product screener which allows it to offer other specialized products. Products can be shipped in bulk or bulk bags.
